Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to support our in vitro biology research activities. The successful candidate will perform cell culture, tissue culture, assay development, and biochemical analyses to contribute to our pipeline of therapeutic projects. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive research objectives forward.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and culture mammalian cell and tissue lines, ensuring optimal growth and health.
  • Perform in vitro assays including cell-based functional assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience in isolating and handling human PBMCs for conducting functional immune assays, including activation, proliferation, cytokine release, and cytotoxicity studies.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate in vitro assays for target engagement, compound screening, and mechanism of action studies.
  • Prepare and standardize solutions, buffers, and reagents necessary for experiments.
  • Assist in the design and execution of experiments, including troubleshooting and protocol refinement.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data; prepare detailed reports and summaries.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, including electronic lab notebooks and sample inventories.
  • Ensure laboratory compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Support laboratory maintenance, equipment calibration, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with team members to support project milestones and scientific goals.
  • Stay current with technological advances and incorporate new methodologies as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, with 2 + years of experience
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, human PBMC isolation and in vitro assay techniques.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry, ELISA, and molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot experiments, and manage multiple projects.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel, FlowJo).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in early drug discovery research environments.
  • Knowledge of assay validation and high-throughput screening.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and transfection.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

The salary range for this position is $50,000- $80,000 per year. The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, education, and skills. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan options.
